Whoop Whoop, its Friday again !
This week, it’s a fact from Space so read on ….
Did you know in January 2016, Astronauts on board the International Space Station (ISS) made history after growing and realizing the first ever flower blooming in space. In fact the blooming of the orange zinnia was not only a success story but also an important milestone for the future of space travel.
Although astronauts have grown lettuces in space earlier, the Zinnea is a much more difficult plant to grow as it is more sensitive to light characteristics and environmental parameter’s. The challenging process of growing the zinnias provided an exceptional opportunity for scientists back on Earth to better understand how plants grow in microgravity conditions.
Have a great weekend !!
