Did you know that there are 39 different recorded species of the Lavender plant? Also thousands upon thousands of other species have been produced through cross pollination of various species?
The Lavandula flower heads look like a ring of flowers but are really two crowded clusters opposite each other going up
English royalty were particularly fond of Lavender during the Victorian Era. So much so that Queen Victoria even appointed a lady named Miss Sarah Sprules as the official purveyor of Lavender essence to the queen. Floors and furniture were washed and all the linens perfumed with its sweet scent.
