Fun Fact Friday, Wk 14

Hallo All ,

As the end of October approaches so does Halloween – we’ve got a special fun fact to get you in the mood !!

Did you know of a flower that turns from pure white to transparent when it comes into contact with water? And when the leaves dry out, the flower turns back to their original white! Spooky isn’t it? Guess what it’s called ??

You’ve got it – The Skeleton Flower. It is a white woodland blossom with a scientific name of Diphelleia grayi. This flower grows naturally in three regions of the world. The plant grows on moist, wooded mountain sides in colder regions of Japan, China and the Appalachian Mountains in the United States, and is instantly recognizable by its large, umbrella-like leaves

Enjoy your weekend !!
