The Hoxton Dublin marks a significant milestone for the brand as its first opening in Ireland. Located in the heart of the city on Exchequer Street, the project involved the full refurbishment of the former Central Hotel, transforming the historic building into a vibrant, contemporary destination.
Leaflike was appointed to design, install, and maintain live planting throughout the interior and exterior spaces. Our role was to enhance the hotel’s character with rich, layered greenery that reflects both Dublin’s heritage and The Hoxton’s modern, community-focused ethos.
Planting schemes were introduced across key guest and public areas, including the front entrance, reception, lobby lounge and bar, restaurant, library bar, and terrace, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere from arrival through to relaxation spaces.
Wild and leafy
The planting design was developed to strike a careful balance between contemporary and traditional influences, reflecting both the historic setting and the brand’s modern style. Leaflike delivered a wild and leafy aesthetic, softening architectural features with natural textures and enhancing social spaces with layered greenery. A rich mix of foliage plants, cascading species, and statement specimens was used to build depth and visual interest throughout the building, supporting a relaxed, residential feel.
A condensed programme of works required precise planning, efficient logistics, and close coordination between all partners.
