No.1 Lounges Clubrooms Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3

Clustered within Heathrow Terminal 3, the Clubrooms lounge by No.1 Lounges offers 4,200 ft² of elevated comfort, seating 116 guests in subdivided, intimate rooms. A key highlight is the bright, Mediterranean-style Orangery, doubtlessly enriched by the central olive tree feature, accompanied by lush underplanting and architectural rockery.

The Brief

Commissioned by No.1 Lounges and advised by Resident Architects, Leaflike was tasked with implementing a premium interior planting scheme across the Clubrooms lounge. Our objective was to refine the guest experience through carefully curated greenery—bringing a sense of calm, luxury, and biophilic authenticity to the diverse lounge environments, including the standout Orangery space.

The Solution

Leaflike developed an integrated planting strategy tailored to each distinct zone within the lounge:

  • Entrance & Transition Areas
Tall statement planters with sculptural palms and broad-leaved specimens softened the raw concrete and column fields at entry‑points, subtly guiding guests into the lounge.

  • Defined ‘Room’ Areas
Mid-height planters, containing lush foliage, created natural partitions that introduced intimacy and privacy. These greenery clusters were placed around seating, dining, and work nooks to reduce terminal noise and enhance spatial comfort.

  • Grab‑and‑go & Dining Zones
Table-level vignettes of aromatic herbs and seasonal flora livened worktops, creating sensory micro-moments where guests could connect with nature while awaiting refreshments.

  • The Orangery
The centrepiece featured a majestic olive tree—an anchoring focal point—surrounded by complementary Mediterranean planting, recreating the sunlit ambiance of a garden within the terminal, and reinforcing the Orangery’s identity.

.

All species were selected for their indoor resilience and low maintenance, ensuring a healthy, evergreen presence even in the airport’s artificial light and variable conditions. The plant palette echoed the lounge’s British‑elegance and heritage-inspired design language

The Results

  • Improved Guest Wellbeing
The greenery added visual comfort and created restful zones amidst lounge activity. The Olive-centred Orangery became a natural haven, offering calm respite and sensory engagement for passengers.

  • Aesthetic Integration
Planting seamlessly reinforced the subdivided spatial design, aligning with luxurious materials like marble, brass, and soft upholstery to craft a cohesive and refined biophilic environment.

  • Brand Differentiation
By weaving natural elements throughout, the scheme elevated the Clubrooms concept—underlining No.1 Lounges’ positioning as a refined, sanctuary-like experience for discerning travellers.

Leaflike’s interior planting scheme brought Clubrooms at Heathrow T3 to life, transforming a formerly raw space into an atmospheric refuge. Through sculptural greenery, aromatic accents, and a striking olive focal point, we reinforced the lounge’s segmented layout and heightened guest experience. This project marks a successful collaboration with No.1 Lounges and Resident Architects—demonstrating how thoughtfully deployed planting can elevate luxury, comfort, and brand distinction in premium airport environments.
