The Hoxton Edinburgh marks the brand’s highly anticipated Scottish debut, bringing signature Hoxton style to one of the UK’s most characterful cities. Located within a collection of 11 Georgian-style townhouses, the project involved transforming these historic buildings into a vibrant hospitality destination that blends heritage architecture with contemporary design.
Leaflike was appointed to design and deliver both live and preserved planting across the hotel’s interior and exterior spaces. Working closely with Cedar Capital, Cumming Group, and Ennismore, our planting scheme was developed to complement the building’s historic character while supporting the relaxed, design-led atmosphere the Hoxton brand is known for.
Planting installations were carefully integrated throughout guest and public areas, creating a layered and welcoming environment that enhances the guest experience from arrival through to social spaces.

Layered planting with character
The planting concept focused on creating a rich, natural aesthetic that feels both refined and relaxed. Statement plants such as Kentia palms and Yucca introduce height and architectural structure, while Monstera adds bold foliage and texture to interior spaces. Citrus elements, including lemon trees, bring a subtle Mediterranean warmth that contrasts beautifully with the Georgian surroundings.
By combining statement specimens with softer foliage planting, the scheme creates depth and visual interest while maintaining the residential feel that defines the Hoxton brand.
Another great collaboration
Opened in July 2025, The Hoxton Edinburgh represents another successful collaboration between Leaflike and the Hoxton brand. Through thoughtful design and carefully delivered planting, the project demonstrates how biophilic design can enhance hospitality environments while respecting the character of historic buildings.
Our ongoing partnership continues to support the creation of distinctive hotel spaces that feel vibrant, welcoming, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
