How many years have you worked for Leaflike?
I have worked as a florist for 30 years and for Leaflike for 4 years
What’s your favourite thing to make as a florist?
I love all aspects of my job and my favourite would be pedestals and vases. I like creating a unique and bespoke design, especially for the hotel foyer and locations around the venue.
I look forward to seeing photos of my work when the technicians have put the arrangements in the venue for the customers.
Seasonal arrangements are always fun because I can use the new and different textures and colours, choosing from the new stock. Staying true to the season pulling together a selection of flowers to create a unique and bespoke arrangement.
What is your favourite colour?
I love hot pinks! I like everything!
What is your favourite flower?
I love everything, lily of the valley, tuber rose and gardenia which are all white and fragrant.
I even named my children Jasmine and Violet!
Working with fresh flowers, lifelike and our unique Everleaf preserved floristry gives me the opportunity to create stunning arrangements based on the customer requirements and the positive feedback makes my day!
What is on trend currently?
This summer pale pink, blush and white have been popular.
Yesterday I created an arrangement for a customer, for the transition of end of summer to early autumn, it included pinks, peach and raspberry, with a hint of purple and a pop of lime green, they blend through the seasonal change.
Tell me about the different types of arrangements?
I like tropical, Australian native displays, preserved moss bowls and the most popular currently is natural dried pampas arrangements.
What do you in your spare time?
I love event work including weddings. I teach floral workshops, for example, wreath making for Christmas. A recent project included natural-coloured Pampas clouds hanging from the ceiling with fishing wire.
